Tiny Life Update

Just a short update on my writing as it’s been a while since I shared anything on here. Yes 6 weeks since I last blogged..

Two things are happening at the moment, firstly I am in the middle of moving house, and this will be my first ‘own’ house for over 5 years, ill not say location or anything else here yet, but safe to say it feels like a big moment in my life, my healing and also the possibility to make a place truly my own, ive been renting the last 5 years, two nice flats, but now its time to have my own own place, im hoping to be in by July….

And now to update you on the book. I met with my editor a few weeks ago who had seen my original 20,000+ word manuscript of 9 chapters. Each on a different aspect of feelings and emotions and the story of a young boy who discovers them. It was a brilliant meeting and she suggested a few things, and as well is very knowledgeable about the industry (and has 3 boys of her own).

As a result of this meeting, I will now build up the chapters to become individual stories of their own (ie 7-8000 words each) to then have these made into short stories and pitch these to a publisher once they have been honed and shaped… with the thought that there would be another number of stories to come in the future…

This was three weeks ago, and since then I have submitted one chapter of 8000 words for editing, written one other at 8500 and started another. It feels very exciting and creative, and I am feeling very proud of what I have written so far, given how well it flowed and how it has developed my original ideas. Feedback from a few friends have been v encouraging!

As you will know, I have been writing for fun for 12 years now, on this and my other blog, and its something I so so enjoy. But I can tell I am using a lot of energy to write the books, which is natural. So, apologies if the blogs are less frequent… but I think you’ll understand..

It does feel like life is beginning for me, at this tender age of mid forties.. lots of things seem to be happening that are good, and opening up… lots to say soon, but will hold them back for a while..
